3yrs ago while boondockin' on the #saltonsea, I frequented a gas station to refill propane. One day I was asked by gas station clerk "Do you live in the slabs?" My response is no but if your stereotyping me I must see it. The next 2 winters I claimed a section off Eidith and Low, situated across from the notorious Radio Mike Camp (a nomad of 20yrs/ 15 at Slabcity). Too intense to stay in the summer (Coachella valley desert averages 115), it's more of a #snowbird gig for travelers, although their is a few locals of 30yrs. The epitome of #offgrid, it's like a real life Burning Man. RVS, art installations (recycled trash) Outcasts, Snowbirds, Artists, Druggies, Backpackers, its surprising that it has more small community vibe then any city I been. Maybe because it's real shit and for the better of the good everyone watches each other? Since there is no laws, no rules, no enforcement by Police, maybe it's a format that this country needs to get back to... tribal! Haha Anyhow after returning from a short trip to East Coast (it was too humid for work), stopped by my old campsite. Took my Co- Pilot Leslie to Leonard's #salvationmountain, #eastjesus, #therange, to get a glimpse of this crazy outlaw land filled with love for freedom. Must see for any traveler...
