"Im a self-taught artist who first experienced glassblowing in the early nineties. Summer of 1997 while watching a friend make wine stoppers made of borosillicate in his small warehouse in Palo Alto i then practiced the art of glass. On and off i spent the next several years then coined the name Wicked Glass. -- a custom, handcrafted company with a Wicked twist. Striving for perfection i wanted to implement in my own designs which would take over ten years to develop. Im consistently trying new techniques and adapting my own unique style while traveling having worked in glass studios in San Francisco, NYC, Oakland, and Santa Cruz. I can make anything from wine decanters, glass pendants, wine glasses, water pieces, to exotic adult toys, and pipe art. My collection of handblown pieces are a response to the need for original hand-made american glass which is affordable and unique. After 7 years off the torch i restarted after my move back to Santa Cruz, CA (Home) which is a big inspiration in my artwork. Think LOCAL first mentatality."
"420 Days, Snodgrass didnt go there"
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go." For "420 Days" I am traveling the ambiguous, working from my RV. I left Santa Cruz on April 20th, 2013 and will be writing a small book of the experience encountering different landscapes, people, and climates while working from my mobile work studio. Powered by solar to stay "Green" i will continue to blog glass art, events, people and pictures of places i encounter during this time via my instagram app. Hope to end my trip at "North End Beach" in Florida. Im inspired by books by Jack Kerouac and artists like legendary glassblower Bob Snodgrass who traveled via his converted bus. I never heard the term Art Nomad but believe if it is not an experience ya can just purchase online so had to do myself.
UPDATE: The "420 Days" were completed and will be publishing my thoughts about this in "Kraken The Code". I will be following up on this idea once i take time off glass, currently still traveling. Some of us travel, some forever.
